Hamon: Suguha with active ko-ashi, fully displaying the characteristic workmanship of the Kamakura period. The hamon also exhibits double and triple yakiba.

Features: The Ryūmon school flourished from the mid to late Kamakura period. The Ryūmon smiths of Nara are said to have supported the Imperial Court and to have served as the resident swordsmiths of Ryūmon-ji Temple. Their works are generally characterized by suguha hamon in the Yamato tradition. The tightly forged and beautifully refined ko-itame hada of this blade is particularly attractive. It is a highly recommended example, with distinctive double and triple yakiba that closely resemble the characteristic features of the Yamato tradition.

Fuchikashira: Shakudo nanako fittings carved with cranes and clouds, decorated with gold iroe.
