Shape : The blade is broad and thick enough with deep Sori and longer Kissaki.
Jigane: Koitamehada is very fine. Beautiful Konuka/Hizen-hada.
Hamon: Koniedeki Gunomemidare with deep Nioikuchi. Gunome on the Sashiura has the same height as the front, reminding of Ichimonji. The blade is bright with Kinsuji. A marvelous work. Sashiura has Niedeki and Gunomemidare with deep Nioikuchi, Nijuba. Ashi works well. Boshi is Midarekomi and later Hakikake.

Special feature: Oumi Daijyo Fujiwara Tadahiro was a son of the first generation Tadayoshi　and studied the technique from his father. After his father passed away he succeeded to 2nd generation. Tadayoshi 1st had a lot of pupils and after the second had succeeded the family, many pupils helped him a lot and secured his prosperity. He succeeded to Oumi Daijo in July of Kanei 18 and he kept on making swords for 60 years. Tadahiro produced numerous swords, but among them, 2nd is really popular. He passed away at the age of 81, in Genroku 6. Mutsu Daijo Tadayoshi 3rd, Harima Daijo Tadakuni, Kawachi Daijo Masahiro, and Dewa Kami Yukihiro…There were lots of great pupils from his school. And he also got supported by Nabeshima Domain and monopolized hollandaise iron, he made unique Jigane and he prohibited its production only in his family. This work has Midareba, which is rare for Tadahiro, and calm Gunomemidare. The blade is unbelievably well-made and has no flaws at all. We truly recommend this masterpiece which is ranked as O-Wazamono.

Koshirae: Higo Koshirae
Tsuba: Tatemaru-shaped iron Tsuba. No Kozuka/Kogai holes. The centre is thick and plants are engraved with gold-inlay. A person who is cleaning with a silver broomstick is engraved with silver.
Fuchi: Iron plate. Family crest and patterns are engraved with gold color.
Kashira: Shibuichi plate. Patterns are engraved on it.
Saya: Inro-Kizami. Patterns are also engraved.
Menuki: Shakudo plate. Patterns are engraved.

From Aoi Art: This work was made in Kanei 11. His father passed away in Kanei 10, and after that he started to engrave Mei of Tadahiro. This Katana was made 1 year after that. That periods, or era, he had been making great swords, some of them are designated as Juyo Token. Tsuruta thinks that his masterpiece is absolutely in works from this era. We truly recommend this one for you. Koshirae is attractive Higo Koshirae.
