Era: Late Muromachi period
Shape: Suriage Mumei Katana with broad and thick blade, Sori is adequate, Kissaki is longer. A work made between the late Muromachi period to Azuchi Momoyama period, with strong atmosphere, Bo-hi and Soe-hi are engraved on the both sides.
Jigane: Itame-hada well grained with Hadadachi, Jinie attached and Chikei comes in.
Hamon :Niedeki, Gunome-midare with slightly deep Nioikuchi mixed with Togari-Gunome-midare, Ashi works well, Sunagashi works in Hachu, and small Kinsuji comes in. Boshi is Notate and turns back sharply.

Special feature: The name Kanenori is difficult to distinguish because we have several Kanenori in Mino or Echizen.

Koshirae :
Tsuba:Iron tsuba, crane spreading its wings is engraved by openwork. The color will be chic with special care.
Fuchikashira: Shakudo plate, a rural scene is engraved with gold color.
Saya: Kuro-roiro Saya, lines are engraved like a belt at regular intervals.
Menuki: Shakudo plate, flowers are engraved with gold color.

From Aoi Art: Kanenori made sharp swords as a Mino swordsmith. It may have been because of the divided labor, why sword smiths in Seki made a lot of Tanto and hardly made Katana. This is appraised as a Mumei Kanenori by NBTHK. The shape is quite similar to the ones from the late Muromachi to the Keicho era.
Jigane with Hadadachi, Hamon with uneven Gunome-midare and with squarish Gunome. Very rough one. Length at the hamachi and kissaki are not so different with longer Kissaki, the characteristics of the Keicho swords. Koshirae is normal, but Tsuba has the potential to be beautiful when you take care of it. Well-ballanced-shaped Katana with great Jigane and Hamon of Gunome-Midare with deep Nioikuchi. We truly recommend this one for you.
