This sword belongs to Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Silver single habaki。
Blade length : 65.2 cm or 25.6 inches.
Sori : 1,4cm or 0.55 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.0cm or 1.18 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.0 cm or 0.7inches.
Kasane :0.54 cm or 0.21 inches.
The weight of the sword 535 grams.
Era : Late Muromachi period.1532.
Shape : The blade is rather wide and thick with regular Sori and longer
kissaki and small size Nakago Katate Uchi style sword.
Jigane :Koitame hada and ko-mokume hada mixed with Jinie attach and Utsuri appear.
Hamon :Niedeki Suguha with ko-ash.
Bo-shi is a round Shape.

Special feature: Sukesada Hizen swordsmiths started from the Muromachi
period and still continue. Harima, Mimasaka and Bizen
province had been prospered under the protection of the
Akamatsu family.
Above all, Bizen province has turned out a great many
talented swordsmiths.
Supplying the demand of the Provincial Wars in Japan, a
large number of swords were made
there in the late Muromachi period.
Sukesada has become a synonym
for the Osafune School though the
founder was Mitsutada. It is regrettable that a deluge
devastated the School in Osafune districts in Tensho era.
Such is the way of the world that even the Osafune School,
that prosperity and power had been unparalleled,
perished in this way in the deluge. Old swords are all that is
left to tell how once the sword smiths lived.

From Aoi Art: Bizen Osafune Sukesada was working at late Muromachi
period mainly. It is said that a large number of swords
were produced by a division of labor system in
preparation for mass production.
