The blade was polished.
Habaki : Silver single habaki.
Blade length : 67.87 cm or 26.72 inches.
Sori : 0.45 cm or 0.17 inches.
Mekugi : 　2
Width at the hamachi : 3.15 cm or 1.24 inches.
Kasane : 0.9 cm or 0.35 inches.
Era : Late Edo period.
Shape : Kogarasumaru Utsushi shape.
Jigane : Ko Itame Hada with Masame.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Gunome Midare and Togari Gunome Midare.
At a glance, the blade looks Echizen Shinto.

Special feature: Kogarasumaru which is very unusual shape sword which was made at the end of Nara period to Heian period was a Heike family’s important treasure which is now imperial treasure.
This style sword was made between Mainly aimed at cutting from a straight sword intended for piercing
It was devised for both purposes during the transition period of Wanto,(curving sword)
Some sword judges or schoolers different opinion for this sword. but In the Syosoin treasure room,There are several same shape swords.
