Signature :Oki Kuni Ju Okimitsu.隠岐国住沖光
Syowa 20 Nen 5 Gatsu(1945)

Explanation : This sword was made in May 1945.

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyo-jyo saku Jyo saku and regular
saku)
This sword belongs to Jyo Jyo Saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : copper single habaki
Blade length : 64.4cm or 25.35 inches.
Sori :1.6cm or 0.62 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.02cm or 1.18 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.22cm or 0.87 inches.
Kasane : 0.74 cm or 0.29 inches.
The weight of the sword 765 grams.
Era: Showa 1945 May.
Shape: The blade is rather wide and thick
with suitable sori and longer kissaki.
Jigane: Koitame hada well grained with jinie attach beautiful nice texture.
Hamon: Niedeki gunome Midare and Choji Midare mixed and Ashi work and small kinsuji work.

Special feature: Okimitsu is sword smith of Shimane province and won the Chairman’s Award of the Army Guntō Technology Encouragement Association.
It is surprising that he was born in 1933 and was making such a work when he was 17 years old.
His sword’s Tamahagane(Sword material) was using Shimane’s high-quality Jigane.

Koshirae :
Saya: blue shell Wonderful Saya.
Tsuba: Round iron Tsuba, butterflies shape are engraved and inlay brass plate.
Menuki: a swallow and bamboo are engraved with gold color.

Explanation: This sword was made in August 1979.

This sword belongs to Jyo Jyo Saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki: copper single habaki
Blade length: 26.9cm or 10.59 inches.
Sori :0.1cm or 0.039 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.8cm or 1.1inches.
Width at the Kissaki: 2.17cm or 0.854 inches.
Kasane :0.67 cm or 0.264 inches.
The weight of the sword 765 grams.
Era: Syowa 44 August.
Shape: The blade is a rather wide and thick healthy blade.
Jigane: Koitame hada well grained with jinie attach beautiful nice texture.
Hamon Nie Deki Suguha and Notare and also Gunome Midare mixed with deep nioikuchi
soft feeling.

Special feature: Oki Province Okimitsu is a swordsmith in Shimane and won the
Chairman’s Award of the Army Guntō Technology Encouragement Association.

Tamahagane was made using Shimane’s high-quality Jigane, and many sword makers
made have made masterpieces.

Koshirae :
Saya .blue shell wonder full Saya.
Menuki: The sight of a monkey riding on a wild boar is engraved with a
golden painting or solid gold.
I don’t know if it’s real solid gold or not.
Kozuka: on the copper plate a man is engraved.

From Aoi Art: These Daisho set of swords were made by Akimitsu who lived in Shimane prefecture Sword was made before the end of the war time 17 years of age.
but unfortunately, the war was end so he has to stop making swords. after many years
empty time and after that he again making swords. This Tanto is extremely fine Jigane
and also nice hamon suguha based small gunome midare and soft thick nioikuchi and appear a active kinsuji.
We strongly recommend this daisy set of Akimitsu swords with Koshirae.
