This blade is ranked as Jyojyo Saku among the works of Naminohira Yasushige.

Curvature: 2.6 cm (1.02 in).
Mekugi Hole: 2.
Width at Base (Motohaba): 3.07 cm (1.21 in).
Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.87 cm (0.34 in).
Sword Weight: 820 g.
Era: Late Muromachi period.
Shape: A large and imposing naginata with a wide mihaba, thick kasane, and a powerful overall sugata.
Jigane: Itame hada mixed with masame, covered with ji-nie and featuring chikei. The forging grain is clearly visible, giving the steel a distinctive texture.
Hamon: Approximately 3 cm above the habaki-moto, mizukage and utsuri appear. Beyond this point, the hamon becomes a gunome-midare with a tight nioiguchi, growing increasingly vigorous toward the monouchi. Ashi and yō are abundantly present, giving the blade a bold and rustic character. The boshi is yakitsume.

Features: Naminohira Yasushige was a swordsmith of Satsuma Province, and the Naminohira school traces its origins back to the Nanbokucho period. This blade is considered to be the work of a later-generation Yasushige, most likely dating to the mid-Muromachi period.

Aoi Art’s Comment: Works by Naminohira Yasushige are uncommon, and examples of this size and commanding presence are particularly rare. The jigane displays the characteristic standing grain of the Naminohira school, making this an excellent representative example.Please note there are rust. If you need polishi, it will cost 60,000 JPY.
