Written on a summer day in 1862.

Features: Ryūbundō was a renowned Kyoto workshop active from the Edo period through the Shōwa period. The box inscription was written by Ōnishi Jōju, a distinguished kettle maker active from the late Edo period into the Meiji period. He was born in 1808 and became the 11th generation head of the Kyoto Ōnishi family. He passed away on June 2, 1875. This piece has rust on both the inside and outside of the kettle.
