This blade is ranked as Jyojyo Saku among the works of Kunitomo.
Habaki: Single silver-foiled habaki.
Blade Length: 70.4 cm (27.72 in).
Curvature: 1.7 cm (0.67 in).
Mekugi Hole: 1.
Width at Base (Motohaba): 3.03 cm (1.19 in).
Width at Yokote: 2.90 cm (1.14 in).
Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.80 cm (0.31 in).
Sword Weight: 855 g.
Era: Late Edo period.
Shape: A robust blade with a slightly wide mihaba, substantial kasane, and a somewhat broad kissaki.
Jigane: Well-forged ko-itame hada producing a fine jigane. The shinogi-ji also displays a well-forged ko-itame hada.
Hamon: Rounded gunome-midare in a nioi-deki style. The boshi is likewise finished in midare.
Features: Kunitomo was a swordsmith of Tsugaru Province, known for forging blades with rounded pointed gunome. He produced solid, well-made swords of excellent quality.
Koshirae:
Tsuba: Mokko-shaped shakudo nanako tsuba with high-relief carvings of birds and trees, decorated with gold iroe.
Fuchikashira: Shakudo fittings decorated with a landscape design in gold, signed Nagashige.
Saya (Scabbard): Black roiro lacquered saya with partial vermilion accents.
Menuki: Crane motif decorated with gold iroe.
