This blade is ranked as Jyojyo Saku among works attributed to Mumei (Den Enju).
Habaki: Double gold-foiled habaki.

Era: Late Kamakura period to early Nanbokucho period.
Shape: A well-proportioned katana with a wide mihaba and substantial kasane. Bohi are carved on both sides of the blade.
Jigane: Well-forged ko-itame hada with prominent utsuri.
Hamon: Ko-nie-deki suguha. The boshi turns back gracefully in a rounded form with hakikake.

Features: The Enju school was a group of swordsmiths active in Higo Province from the late Kamakura period through the early Nanbokucho period, founded by Enju Taro Kunimura. Notable members include Kunimura and Kunitoki. Kunimura is traditionally said to have been the grandson of Rai Kuniyuki. Although the workmanship of the Enju school closely resembles that of the Rai school, one distinguishing characteristic is the more restrained activity within the hamon.
