Features: This hand-bucket-shaped mizusashi (fresh water container) is finished in Wajima-nuri, the renowned traditional lacquerware produced in Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture. A teoke mizusashi is a water container in the form of a hand bucket, used in the Japanese tea ceremony to hold fresh water for replenishing the kettle. It became a popular tea utensil from the Muromachi period onward.
The rim of the bucket is lavishly wrapped in silver, enhancing its elegant and luxurious appearance.An exceptional masterpiece of the highest quality.
