Jigane: Extremely well-forged ko-itame hada with a tightly compact and refined jigane.
Hamon: Nie-deki with gunome-midare mixed with notare. Ashi are active throughout the hamon, while sunagashi and kinsuji are prominent within the hardened edge. The boshi continues in midare, turns back with a pointed tip, and displays kinsuji within the boshi.

Features: The modern swordsmith Ozawa Masatoshi (real name: Ozawa Iwazo) received numerous prestigious awards at the Shinsaku Meito Exhibition and Shinsaku Token Exhibition, including the highly regarded Prince Takamatsu Prize, the Mainichi Newspaper Prize, the Excellence Award, the Effort Award, and, before World War II, the Gold Cup Award. Although he never attained the status of Mukansa swordsmith, his ability was fully comparable to those who did. He worked at Shomaru Pass in Saitama Prefecture, specializing in blades in the Soden-Bizen style. He passed away in 1993 at the age of 73, and is regarded as one of the outstanding swordsmiths of the modern era.

The activity within the hamon of this blade is exceptional. The nie-deki gunome-midare is enriched with abundant kinsuji and sunagashi, while the boshi continues in an active gunome pattern and returns with a pointed tip, recalling the style of Samonji. The prominent kinsuji throughout the hamon further enhance its quality. This is a finely executed blade that we highly recommend.
