This piece is ranked as Jyo Saku for Mumei (Itakura Seki Masatoshi).

Jigane: Ko-itame hada, well-forged with some areas showing a raised grain.
Hamon: Nie deki with gunome midare, featuring angular gunome midare, turning back sharply at the tip.

Features: Although unsigned, this naginata is attributed to Itakura Seki Masatoshi.
It has an excellent shape and sturdy construction.
Itakura Seki Masatoshi was active from the early Muromachi period (Oei era) to the late Muromachi period.
He is known for creating swords with gunome midare hamon and excellent craftsmanship.
This naginata, from around the Eisho era, is a well-made and highly recommended piece due to its rarity and quality.

Aoi Art’s Comment: This is a solidly constructed naginata attributed to Itakura Seki Masatoshi.
With its thick and sturdy build, it is a fine example of his work.
The Itakura Seki school started in the early Muromachi period (Oei era) and continued until the late Muromachi period.
They are known for making excellent swords with gunome midare hamon.There is a slight rust on the Mune side.
This naginata, from the Eisho era, is rare and highly recommended for its quality.
