This blade is ranked as Jyojyo Saku among works attributed to Jūnin Tadayoshi.
Habaki: Double habaki with gold and silver foil.
Blade Length: 39.7 cm (15.63 in).
Curvature: 1.2 cm (0.47 in).
Mekugi Hole: 2 (1 plugged).
Width at Base (Motohaba): 3.12 cm (1.23 in).
Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.93 cm (0.37 in).
Sword Weight: 530 g.
Era: Edo period, around the Keicho era (1596–1615).
Shape: An exceptionally rare form, with one side forged as a katakiriba and the opposite side displaying the shape of a naginata-naoshi.
Jigane: Well-forged, tightly compact ko-itame hada producing a fine and refined steel surface.
Hamon: Gunome-midare with active nijūba. The boshi is intricately tempered with a complex midare pattern.
Features: Although unsigned, this blade has been attributed by the NBTHK to Jūnin Tadayoshi, one of the highest-ranked swordsmiths. It is considered to have been forged when the first-generation Tadayoshi was approximately 44 years old. The blade is extraordinarily unusual, with one side featuring a katakiriba edge while the reverse has the appearance of a naginata-naoshi. Examples of this distinctive construction are exceedingly rare.
