Features: Hizen Kuni Ju Fujiwara Tadahiro was the son of the first-generation Tadayoshi. Following his father’s death, works bearing his signature began to appear from Kan’ei 10 (1633), and in Kan’ei 18 (1641), at the age of 29, he was granted the honorary title of Omi Daijo. Throughout his life he never succeeded to the name Tadayoshi, instead consistently signing his works as Tadahiro. Until his death at the age of 80 in Genroku 6 (1693), he forged swords for approximately 60 years, leaving behind a large number of works in a wide variety of styles. This blade is an excellent example of his craftsmanship and is a sword whose refined beauty never grows tiresome.
