This blade is ranked as Jyojyo Saku among the works of Higo no Kami Kuniyasu.
Habaki: Single-layer copper habaki.
Blade Length: 56.0 cm (22.05 in).
Curvature: 1.0 cm (0.39 in).
Mekugi Hole: 1.
Width at Base (Motohaba): 2.98 cm (1.17 in).
Width at Yokote: 2.09 cm (0.82 in).
Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.66 cm (0.26 in).
Sword Weight: 590 g.
Era: Edo period, around the Kanbun era (1661–1673).
Shape: A relatively wide and thick wakizashi of considerable length. There is a small flaw above the signature on the tang.
Jigane: Well-forged ko-itame hada producing a refined and high-quality steel surface.
Hamon: Suguha beginning at the hamachi, transitioning into gunome-midare. Active ashi are present, and the workmanship closely resembles that of the second-generation Kawachi no Kami Kunisuke.

Features: Higo no Kami Kuniyasu was the third son of the first-generation Kawachi no Kami Kunisuke. His workmanship closely resembles that of the so-called Naka-Kawachi (middle-period Kunisuke) style.

Koshirae:
Saya (Scabbard): Vermilion lacquered saya.
Tsuba: Iron tsuba with openwork dragon design.
Fuchikashira: Shakudo nanako ground carved with a sage motif and decorated with gold, silver, and copper iroe. Signed: Goshu Hikone Junin Soten.
Menuki: Floral motif carved and highlighted with gold iroe.

Aoi Art’s Comment: This is an excellent work by Higo no Kami Kuniyasu. Designated as both Jo-saku and O-Wazamono among Shinto swords, it is a superb example of his craftsmanship.
