Shape: wide, thick blade with deep curvature and Mitsumune.
Jigane: packed and fine koitame hada makes plain surface.
Hamon: leaning Choji-midare with clear and bright nioikuchi with soft and frequent Ashi and Yo.
Features:
Masaharu, whose real name was Noboru Kashiyama, is a swordsmith from Tokushima Prefecture who has received multiple awards at the New Sword Exhibition. According to documentation provided by the consignor, this sword was selected for the 25th New Sword Competition.
As expected of a sword selected for the competition, it is a magnificent long sword with a bold, imposing silhouette, featuring a brilliant choji hamon. The workmanship is of excellent quality.
