Era: early Edo period, 17th century

Feature:
Shakudo nanako base carved with a design of shells with gold and silver inlays. Gotō Renjō (Mitsutomo) was the 10th-generation head f the Gotō family. He succeeded to the headship of the family in Jōō 1 (1652) and adopted the art name Renjō in Tenna 3 (1683). He passed away in Hōei 5 (1708).
