Aoi Art’s Comment: While the wakizashi itself is an outstanding example of craftsmanship, what distinguishes this work even further is its exceptionally refined koshirae executed almost entirely in solid gold.
The tsuba, fuchikashira, menuki, kozuka, and other fittings were created as a unified set with a consistent decorative theme, combining remarkable luxury with refined elegance.
The harmony between the blade and its mountings makes this piece highly desirable not only for appreciation but also as an important addition to any serious collection.
Examples of this caliber are seldom encountered, making this an exceptionally attractive work.
Highly recommended.
