Signature: Mumei(unsigned) attributed as Sue Tegai.

This sword belongs to Jyo-jyo ranking.
The blade was polished.

Habaki : Silver single habaki.
Blade length : 68.2 cm or 26.8inches.
Sori : 1.52 cm or 0.59inches.
Mekugi : 3
Width at the hamachi : 3.07 cm or 1.21inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.07cm or 0.8inches.
Kasane : 0.67 cm or 0.26inches.
The weight of the sword 730 grams.

Era: Early of Muromachi period
Shape: Wide but regular thickness, deep Sori, and longer Kissaki, O-Suriage Mumei.
Jigane: Ko-Itame-Hada well grained, Jinie attached with minute Chikei. Utsuri appear.
Hamon: Clear Niedeki Suguha with wide Nioikuchi, Ko-Ashi, and soft Habuchi
special feature: Sue-tegai is Tegai swordsmiths worked at Muromachi period. All of Yamato 5 schools(Tegai, Senjuin,Taema, Hosho, Shikkake ) are made swords for guards who protect shrines and most of the swords are Mumei. A special feature of Mumei which attributed as Tegai is Ko-Itame-hada with Utsuri, less Masame-Hada.

Koshirae :
Tsuba: Round iron Tsuba. 32 Arrows are engraved with openwork.
Fuchikashira: Gold color Shakudo Nanako plate. Dragon is engraved.
Saya: Kawari-Nuri style Saya
Menuki: Unknown

From Aoi Art: NBTHK judged this sword is Sue-Tegai, but in our opinion, this sword is older so it is Tegai but not Sue-Tegai. Anyway, Ko-Itame-Hada well grained with Jinie and Chikei , and also Utsuri appear wonderful Jigane. Hamon is clear, Suguha with soft Habuchi and Ko-Ashi worked. Boshi is Yakitsume style. Koshirae is also nice quality and there are no flaws, this peace won’t let you get bored.
