Sayagaki:
Bungo Sueyuki.
The blade has been shortened (suriage), and an old, simple two-character signature remains near the tip of the tang.
It presents a slender form with a small kissaki and a still-high curvature, tempered in a fine suguha.
The moist quality of the nioiguchi captures the distinctive character of the old Kyushu classical school, displaying a quiet elegance.
The old tradition that this is a Late Kamakura Bungo forging can indeed be affirmed.

Tsuba: An almost square iron tsuba decorated with patterns in gold and silver.
Fuchikashira: On a silver base, a dragon and waves are rendered with bold carving and inlaid in gold and silver.

Menuki: A dragon design rendered in shakudo.

Historical Background: Late Kamakura period.
The Karyaku Disturbance of 1326 (Shochu 3) was an internal conflict in the late Kamakura period, arising from a struggle over the succession of the headship of the Hojo Tokuso main line—the regents of the Kamakura shogunate—between the Nagasaki clan (the inner stewards) and the Adachi clan (the maternal relatives).
