Harima Daijo Fujiwara Tadakuni was a swordsmith of Hizen Province, and the first-generation Tadakuni was a disciple of the first-generation Tadayoshi. This blade is of excellent quality, featuring the characteristic beautiful Hizen jigane with fine chikei activity, and a splendid midare-ba in which kinsuji and sunagashi appear prominently throughout the temper line.
