Hizen Kawachi Daijo Fujiwara Masahiro was a Hizen swordsmith and a grandson of the first-generation Tadayoshi. He favored forging midare-ba hamon like the Soshu style with abundant nie, and was highly esteemed by Nabeshima Katsushige.

This blade is particularly rare because, unlike his typical works, it is forged with a prominent masame-hada (straight grain pattern)like Hosho school. 　Skilled swordsmiths of this period often produced works modeled after old blades, and this sword is also thought to have been created as part of such an endeavor.
This piece has a single mekugi-ana, has been well polished, remains in healthy condition, and displays excellent workmanship.
