Era: the early Edo period, circa early 17th century
Shape: wide blade featuring a noticeable difference in width between the base and the tip.
Jigane: Fine ko-itame hada, well-forged and tightly packed, with ji-nie.
Hamon: Nie-based, with a deep nioikuchi, forming a midare pattern of gunome and choji.

Features: Fujiwara Saneyuki was a swordsmith of the Bungo Takada school. This work has a solid, robust shape, with a bright appearance characterized by nie in both the jigane and hamon. Among Takada works, it can be regarded as particularly flamboyant.

Koshirae:
Tsuba: Mokko-shaped iron tsuba featuring a motif of a crescent moon and a boat.
Fuchi: Shakudo nanako base carved with a phoenix.
Kashira: Yamagane base
Menuki: a design is unknown.
