Features: The master of Osaka ju Gassan Sadakatsu was Gassan Sadakazu, who is known as the master who devised the ayasugi hada. During the Meiji period, sword production was banned due to the Haitorei, but later the revival of sword making was permitted, and Sadakazu became a renowned swordsmith as an Imperial Household Artist. His son Sadakatsu skillfully inherited and executed his father’s ayasugi hada style, gaining great popularity.
