Special feature: oshimitsu, whose real nema is O-no Mitsuo was born in
1948. He graduated from Nihon University and started to
learn under Yoshihara Yoshihito. Yoshimitsu awarded the
Shorei-sho prize at his first exhibiting to the Shinsaku-
meito-ten, annual sword-making competition held by the
NBTHK in 1973. He established smithy in Nigata pref. in
the next year. Continuously awarded, he forged a
remarkable sword modeled on a national treasure named
Yamadori-ge. Uesugi Kenshin, known as a famous military
commander in Japan once owned it.
This sword also reproduces its brilliant
hamon called Juka-choji. Yoshimitsu forged this one in the
same year when he was approved a Mukansa-tosho.

From Aoi Art: Yoshimitsu usually does not make Tanto but make Katana,
we think it is because there are law which limit the number
of production each year. Katana is a few milions Yen but
Tanto is not so expensive, but this Tanto is rare and good
quality. There are small Ashi in Hamon, it is need to look
carefully to find it. The polish was done by one of best
polisher. From that, we can see the work of Nie, Chiei in
Jigane. It also has Ububa, we recommend the sword for
Yomeiri Tanto and Family treasure.
