Jigane: Well-forged ko-itame hada with prominent grain and abundant ji-nie.

Features: Aizu Motooki was a swordsmith active in Aizu during the late Edo period. His father was Kakudaiji Hidekuni, and his grandfather was the first-generation Kakudaihachi Motooki. He first studied under Suishinshi Masahide in Edo and later learned sword forging from Oku Motohira of Satsuma. During the closing years of the Edo period, he is said to have forged numerous swords in Kyoto for Aizu Domain retainers and members of the Shinsengumi.
