Features:
Miyoshi Nagamichi was one of the leading swordsmiths of Aizu. In 1660 (Manji 2), he received the honorary title of Mutsu Daijo. Renowned for the exceptional cutting ability of his blades, he is ranked among the Saijo O-wazamono (supreme sharpness grade). He was highly regarded in Aizu, where he was known as “Aizu Kotetsu” or “Aizu Masamune.” He particularly admired Kotetsu and studied his style independently, and some of his works show a strong resemblance to those of Kotetsu.

This blade has been authenticated as bearing a dai-mei inscription by Chujo Nagashige, a disciple of the first-generation Miyoshi Nagamichi, who signed on behalf of his master.

The small, scattered, dot-like marks visible on the sashi-omote appear to be tiny openings in the steel resulting from the forging process.　Nevertheless, the jigane is beautiful, with a thick, even, and well-distributed layer of ji-nie.
