This blade is ranked as Jyo Saku among the works of Sadakane (attributed to Sue-Tegai).
Habaki: Single copper habaki.
Blade Length: 28.4 cm (11.18 in).
Curvature: 0.2 cm (0.08 in).
Mekugi Hole: 1.
Width at Base (Motohaba): 2.7 cm (1.06 in).
Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.67 cm (0.26 in).
Sword Weight: 225 g.
Era: Mid to late Muromachi period.
Shape: A tanto of standard proportions with normal mihaba and kasane.
Jigane: Well-forged ko-itame hada forming a fine-quality jigane.
Hamon: Suguha with nijuba. The boshi becomes slightly pointed and returns deeply.

Features: This tanto bears the signature Sadakane and was attributed to the Sue-Tegai school by the NBTHK Sword Museum during shinsa.

Koshirae:
Tsuba: Iron hamidashi tsuba inlaid with paulownia and arabesque motifs in gold and silver.
Fuchikashira: Kojiri: Iron fittings decorated with cherry blossoms and ornamental patterns in gold.
Saya (Scabbard): Vermilion lacquered saya.
Kojiri: Iron with gold lattice-pattern decoration.
Menuki: Round iron menuki carved with a dragon motif and partially decorated with colored iroe.
Kozuka: Iron ground decorated with plants in gold.

Aoi Art’s Comment: This is a solid example of a Sue-Tegai tanto. The koshirae is particularly attractive, featuring a brilliant vermilion lacquered saya complemented by finely decorated fittings of excellent quality.
