Features: Yasutake was a swordsmith born in 1909 (Meiji 42) in Yamagata Prefecture and a student of Ikeda Kazumitsu (also known as Yasumitsu). In 1935 (Showa 10), he joined the Nihontō Tanrenkai and forged swords within the precincts of Yasukuni Shrine.

In November 1944, he was granted the swordsmith name “Yasutake,” but soon after, the war ended, and his production made in Yasukuni Shrine remained limited. After the war, he was forced to stop forging swords for a while and received permission to resume swordsmithing in 1954, went on to present outstanding works at numerous exhibitions and competitions, and was designated a Mukansa swordsmith by NBTHK in 198. He passed away in 1983.
