Habaki: Single-layer silver foil.

Era: Edo period, around Kan’ei (1624–1644).
Shape: Wide blade with thick kasane and a long kissaki, giving a solid and powerful appearance.
Jigane: Well-forged itame hada, resulting in a beautiful steel surface.
Hamon: Nie-deki, with a varying gunome-midare pattern showing height differences, with kinsuji activities within the temper line. The boshi is midarekomi and returns long.

Features: Etchu Nyudo Norimitsu(Kiju) (Tsutsui Norimitsu(Kiju)), whose real name was Tsutsui Terukuni, was the son of Etchu no Kami Kanekuni and was born in 1666.
From around 1693, he signed with the name Okimitsu.
Many of his works are dated around 1731.　

Aoi Art’s Comment: This work features a wave-like midare hamon with a deep nioiguchi, and a robust shape with wide mihaba and thick kasane. The motohaba reaches as much as 3.26 cm (1.28 in), making it an impressive piece. This is a highly appealing wakizashi.
