Features: The first-generation Tadayoshi was a swordsmith who left many extremely fine works and passed away on August 15, Kanei 9 (1632) at the age of 61.
He signed his blades with inscriptions such as “Hizen no Kuni Tadayoshi,” “Jūnin Tadayoshi Saku,” “Musashi Daijō Tadahiro,” and “Ōmi Daijō Tadahiro.” A distinctive feature of the first generation is that the first stroke of the character “Hiro (広)” is shaped like a diamond.
This blade is an excellent example with a wide and robust shape, and it is very regrettable that it has been shortened (suriage).
