The swordsmith name Jumei appears in various regions from the late Kamakura period through the end of the Edo period.
This work is considered to be a Mino school piece dating to around the late Muromachi period.

Fuchi: Shakudo base carved with camellia, bamboo, and plum blossom design.
Kashira: made of horn
Menuki: Shakudo base, a design of plum tree
