Kashira Dimensions: 3.66cm x 1.95cm x 0.85cm (1.44in x 0.77in x 0.33in)

Era: Edo Period

Description:
On a shakudō shibuchi-ishime (wrinkled stone surface) ground, a design of stylized vines and floral diamond crests (henkaramaki hanabishi-mon) is executed in raised shakudō inlay (takazōgan).

The fuchi is relatively large, making it well-suited for creating a new koshirae (sword mounting). While it may be difficult to find a matching tsuba or menuki with the same wrinkled shakudō surface, a tasteful shakudō nanako set would result in an elegant and harmonious koshirae.

Comes with:
Paulownia wood storage box
Aoi Art appraisal letter
Designated as Hozon Tōsōgu
