This work is ranked as Jyo Saku among works attributed to Hizen no Kuni Tadayoshi (authenticity not guaranteed).

Shape:Slightly wide body with sufficient thickness, and an extended kissaki giving it a dignified appearance.
Jigane:Formed in the traditional Hizen Jigane style, with beautiful ko-itame hada.
The shinogiji displays a mix of mokume and small itame, resulting in a clear and refreshing surface.
Hamon:Primarily suguha with a hint of notare; the boshi is midare-komi and ends in a double hamon.
Aoi Art’s Comment: While the signature reads Hizen no Kuni Tadayoshi, we unfortunately cannot guarantee its authenticity.
Please consider this piece based on its quality rather than its signature.
The shinogiji is crafted in the same steel as the main body, and the polishing has been done very skillfully, indicating the sword was made with considerable care.
Although some Tadayoshi signatures were produced by alternate smiths (daisaku), making it difficult to declare this a forged signature outright, we believe it would not pass appraisal at the NBTHK.
