Shape:A well-balanced blade with wide body and thick kasane, featuring elegant curvature.
Jigane:Ko-itame mixed with small mokume hada, with fine ji-nie forming a beautiful and clear jigane.
Hamon:Ko-nie based gunome-midare. Ashi and yo appear well in the ha, with a soft nioiguchi.
The boshi shows midare-komi.
Features: Hiroki Hirokuni (real name: Junichi) was born in 1948 (Showa 23) in Fukuoka Prefecture as the son of swordsmith Hiroki Kunihiro.
Kunihiro admired the famous smith Kunihiro and produced many works in his style that earned recognition.
Hirokuni studied under his father and later became a student of the late Sumitani Masamine, a Living National Treasure, in 1964 (Showa 39).
This sword is a work by his father Kunihiro, with a wide body and thick kasane, showing strength and quality.
Hirokuni later specialized in Aoe-style works and became a Mukansa swordsmith, but he passed away in 2013 at the age of 65.
