Sword Weight: 580 grams
Era: the early Edo period, around the Kanbun era (1661-1673)

Shape: The wide and thick blade with deep curvature and long kissaki. Bo-Hi is carved on both sides.
Jigane: well forged koitamehada making it an exceptionally beautiful Hizen steel.
Hamon: The temper line is a mix of Nioi and Nie with a Gunome Midare pattern resembling summer clouds. Boshi turns back deeply with deep nioikuchi. The hamon features Sunagashi and Kinsuji.

Features: There were several generations of Kawachi Kami Fujiwara Masahi, and and the first and second generations in particular are particularly highly regarded. The 2nd-generation Masahiro was the son of the 1st generation. His first inscription was Masanaga, and he changed it to Kawachi-Kami Masahiro in 1665 when the 1st generation died. He died in 1700 at the age of 73.
