We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo Saku, Jyojyo Saku, Jyo Saku and Regular Saku.
This work is ranked as Regular Saku among works attributed to Mumei (Unsigned).

Era: Around Kanbun era, Edo period (circa late 17th century)
Shape: almost straight blade with short kissaki.
Jigane: packed ko-itame hada
Hamon: Nie-deki Gunome-midare with Sunagashi and Kinsuji.

Features: After the Sword Abolishment Edict was enforced in the Meiji period, it became popular to carry Japanese swords concealed within canes disguised as walking sticks, known as shikomi-zue.
Based on its shape and the characteristics of the hamon, this piece is thought to be a work from Seki in the early Edo period.
