Mekugi Hole: 2.
Width at Base (Motohaba): 3.18 cm (1.25 in).
Width at Tip (Sakihaba): 1.76 cm (0.69 in).
Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.67 cm (0.26 in).
Sword Weight: 745 grams.
Era: Showa (1926–1989).
Shape: Slightly long blade.
Jigane: Oil-quenched steel.
Hamon: Gunome-midare.

Features: This blade was oil-quenched.
It is a sharp sword.
It was a sword purchased by a military officer.

Koshirae:
This is a type of “Keitō-tachi” (chicken-head tachi), and was made after the end of World War II.

Aoi Art’s Comment:This type of Keitō-tachi likely began production around the Meiji period.
However, this particular piece was made after the war.
Currently, such pieces are no longer produced.
We believe the reason is due to cost issues.
