The suguha hamon is truly superb and carefully crafted.
The deeply defined nioiguchi creates a beautiful hamon, and the large kissaki adds to its charm.
It is a sword that does not become boring over time, and the polishing is excellently done.
Highly recommended for purchase.
Aoi Art’s Comment: This is a work by the second generation.
The first generation was his father, and since they made swords together, their styles are almost identical.
The hamon resembles towering clouds floating in a blue sky, with lightning-like activity appearing within — a magnificent work.
Even this suguha hamon, with its deeply defined nioiguchi, is a splendid and enduringly appealing piece.
He was a swordsmith who never cut corners.
Historical Background: Around the Kanbun era (1661–1673) in the Edo period, the demand for Japanese swords declined.
In response, swordsmiths employed creativity to produce high-quality works and pieces suited to customer preferences.
