Shape: A well-proportioned blade with wide body and thick kasane.
Jigane: Itame mixed with masame, well-forged and refined, showing a clearly visible grain pattern.
Hamon: Nie-deki with rounded gunome-midare, deep nioiguchi, and bohi groove. The boshi is wide, midare-komi, and returns in small round.
Features: Shigekiyo is believed to have been active in Niigata Prefecture during the wartime period.
This is a robust and healthy piece with a long blade length of 74.4 cm and extended kissaki.
Koshirae:
Tsuba: Circular iron tsuba with openwork of aoi leaves. Inscription: “Echizen-ju Kinai Saku.”
Fuchikashira: Shakudo nanako-ji with high-relief pine tree design, colored with gold. Inscription: “Yoshinaga.”
Saya: Reddish brown lacquered saya with carved grooves.
Menuki: Basket and fish design in high relief, colored with gold.
