Era: Around the Jowa period (1345–1350)
Nie-deki, excellent workmanship
Blade Length: 2 shaku 3 sun 3 bu (70.6 cm / 27.80 in)

We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo Saku, Jyojyo Saku, Jyo Saku and Regular Saku.
This blade is ranked as Jyojyo Saku among Mumei (Ko-Uda) works.
Habaki: Single gold-covered habaki
Blade Length: 70.5 cm (27.76 in)
Curvature: 1.9 cm (0.75 in)
Mekugi Hole: 2
Width at Base (Motohaba): 2.86 cm (1.13 in)

Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.65 cm (0.26 in)
Sword Weight: 750 g
Era: Nanbokucho period (1336–1392)
Shape: O-suriage mumei, wide mihaba, slightly thick kasane, deep curvature, and slightly extended kissaki.
Jigane: Well-forged ko-itame hada with visible utsuri, giving an impression of antiquity.
Hamon: Nie-deki with irregular gunome pattern.

Features: Although the attribution by the NBTHK Hozon certificate is Ko-Uda for this unsigned blade, both the NBTHK Tokubetsu Kicho Token certificate and the sayagaki attribute it to Etchu no Tametsugu. In my personal opinion, the attribution to Tametsugu is more appropriate.

Koshirae:
Tsuba: Nade-kaku-gata Tsuba with a carved floral design, highlighted with gold inlay.
Menuki: Carved figures with gold inlay.
Fuchikashira: Shakudo nanako base with sacred tree and bird motif, decorated in gold inlay.
Saya (Scabbard): Black roiro lacquer saya.

Aoi Art’s Comment: The nioiguchi of the hamon is deep, and the boshi also shows a deep nioiguchi with active kinsuji appearing in a yakitsume style.
A timeless piece that does not grow dull.
Highly recommended.
