This piece is ranked as Jyojyo Saku (Upper-Upper Grade) for works by the second generation Yukihiro of Hizen.

Shape: A long wakizashi with a well-proportioned wide and thick body.
Jigane: Ko-itame hada, very densely forged with visible ji-nie.
Hamon: Nie-based gunome-midare with a deeply defined nioiguchi.
Features: The second-generation Yukihiro of Hizen was born in Keian 3 (1650).
In Jōkyō 1 (1684), he was awarded the title of Dewa Daijo and later became Dewa no Kami.
He passed away in Genroku 14 (1701).
He is a recognized smith of high-quality cutting swords (Wazamono), and his works are rarer than those of the first generation.
Koshirae:
Tsuba: Round iron tsuba with openwork carving.
Fuchi: Shakudo nanako ground with a design of horses in gold inlay.
Kashira: Horn.
Saya (Scabbard): Black lacquered saya in roiro finish.
Menuki: Shakudo with design of spiny lobsters, partially in gold.
Kozuka: Shakudo nanako ground with a design of naginata and gold inlay.
Includes small knife (kogatana).
