This work is ranked as Jyo Saku.
Era: Around Kanei era (1624–1644), Settsu Province
Habaki: Single gold foil Habaki.

Shape:A long and slender blade with deep curvature and a slightly extended kissaki.This is a work by the first-generation Kawachi no Kami Fujiwara Kunisuke.Generally, his works are known for being shorter in length, so this long blade is a rarity.
Jigane:Well-forged Ko-itame hada, showing fine craftsmanship.
However, small flaws are noticeable in the shinogi-ji area.
Hamon:Choji-midare in ko-nie-deki.
The hamon is somewhat narrow and shows slight signs of fatigue.
Features:Born in Ise Province, family name Kobayashi.
Originally a samurai, but after the fall of his lord’s house, he moved to Kyoto to become a swordsmith.
He studied under Echigo no Kami Kunisuke.
His works closely resemble those of Kunisada, a fellow disciple.
He passed away on May 30, 1647.

Although there is slight looseness in the blade, it is a splendid piece with a long blade, ubu-nakago, and a single mekugi hole.
We recommend it as both a high-grade Iai sword and a fine collectible piece.
