Jigane: Well-forged small Itame-hada, forming a beautiful Osaka Jigane.
Hamon: Nie-deki, suguha with active ko-ashi. The boshi turns round. Double hamon appears.

Features: Awataguchi Omi no Kami Tadatuna has 1st and 2nd generations, and this work is by the 2nd. Works in suguha are rare, often with well-inserted ashi and double hamon, showing high quality. He was commonly called Takadaibu, also known as Ikkanshi. Especially works with horimono on the blade are signed “Ikkanshi Tadatuna” and are regarded as highly valuable.

Tsuba: Iron tsuba of unusual shape with sukashi carving.
Fuchikashira: Shakudo nanako ground with high-relief carving of Omoto plant and crane, decorated with gold iroe.
Saya (Scabbard): Black roiro saya. Kojiri and fittings in plain copper.
Menuki: Shakudo with high-relief carving of bamboo leaves, decorated with gold iroe.
