Shape: A wide blade with thick kasane and flat forging, giving it a solid appearance.
Jigane: Well-forged itame-hada with visible chikei and a dark tone.
Hamon: Made with nie, featuring gunome-midare pattern, with a deeply turning round boshi.
Features: Satsuma swords and wakizashi are often robust in form.
Masayuki and Motohira strongly reflect this tendency, which may appeal to collectors.
This piece is inscribed with the age of 80, indicating Masayuki forged it at that age — a remarkable feat that reflects his dedication.
