Kenjō is considered to be the same person as Masatsugu. He also signed as “Rihei” and is known for founding the Rihei family line. However, upon the death of his elder brother Eijō—the 6th head of the main Goto family—in Genna 3 (1617), he succeeded as the 7th-generation head of the main Goto line. A master artisan (reference: Kinkō Jiten, p. 310).
Kozuka with such high-relief and sculptural depth are exceedingly rare. This is a superbly crafted masterpiece.
