Features:
Ōmiya was a school of swordsmiths active in Bizen Province from the late Kamakura to the Nanbokuchō period. While many signed works exhibit a calm suguha-style hamon, unsigned blades attributed to Ōmiya often feature mixture of Sousyu and Bizen style and vibrant workmanship with nioi-based gunome-chōji midare. This discrepancy is believed to result from the confusion between the Bizen swordsmiths Ōmiya Morikage and Osafune Morikage. This work is a splendid example of Soden Bizen craftsmanship, reminiscent of Chogi.
Koshirae:
Tsuba: design of ginko leaf inlaid on an iron base.
Fuchikashira: three-tiered pine crest on a shakudo base.
Menuki: a design of a dragon
