Shape: The blade is wide and thick, with a slightly long boshi.
Jigane: Well-forged hadame showing utsuri.
Hamon: Bright and clear nioi-deki with ko-ashi, boshi is rounded and turns back at the tip.

Features: Rai Kuniyasu was a swordsmith of the Rai school, and his disciples are said to have later moved to Echizen. This blade is bright and vivid, with well-visible hada and appearing utsuri.

Koshirae:
Saya (Scabbard): Lacquered in a mixed tone of black and vermillion.
Kojiri: Iron base with wave and paulownia crest design in gold decoration.
Tsuba: Oval iron tsuba with raised rim, decorated in silver to represent trees.
Fuchi: Iron base with flowing water and chrysanthemum motif, colored in gold.
Kashira: Iron base with paulownia crest and wave design, decorated in gold.
Menuki: Designed with omodaka (water plant) crest, decorated in gold.
