Features:
Noshu ju Kanenobu is a swordsmith from Gifu Prefecture, also known as Tanba Seigo.
Sometimes his swords are inscribed with this alternative name.
He is particularly skilled in carving horimono (engravings), and his craftsmanship in this area is highly reputed.
The carvings on this sword are carefully executed.
Recently, I viewed a work by him modeled after Yamatorige, in the Ichimonji style, and was deeply impressed by its excellence.
The hamon of this piece is in nie-deki gunome-midare, and the boshi (tip tempering) is midare-komi.
This is a well-crafted work.
